Veg-Juma is a easy, healthy and delicious Bhutanese dish which is made of wheat flour. It's a quick snack you can make and have.
Ingredients
- 500g wheat flour
- 2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
- 2-3 tablespoon red chilli paste
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- ⅓ tbsp Mono Sodium Glutamate/ Ajinomoto
- Water to combine the above ingredients
- Oil, to fry
- Coriander leaves, chopped
- Lemon wedges, to garnish
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl, add wheat flour, baking powder, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, Sichuan pepper, ajinomoto and salt.
- Mix them well.
- Add water to the dry ingredients and mix to a manageable dough.
- Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured work surface and form a ball.
- Now, gently roll the dough ball froth and back with the help of your palm and fingers and shape it into a log.
- Use flour as needbut make sure not to use too much of flour on your working surface, or you will not get enough grip to form dough ball into a log shape.
- After forming a log shape, cut it into a cylindrical length and place them in the well-greased streamer tray by keeping some space between one another.
- Steam it for 15 minutes under high heat, take out from the steam.
- Let them cool off and further cut into slices and fry until they are nicely brown.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and lemon wedges.
- Finally, serve it immediately.

Note
You can store the remaining jumas in the refrigerator for weeks.
