Aloo Tikki Recipe is a simple and easy patty recipe made with boiled and mashed potatoes. The potato-based tikki is the foundation for many recipes like sandwich, burger, street food and many chaat recipes. It can be served best with tomato ketchup, green chutney or chai.
Ingredients
- 3 potatoes (boiled,peeled,mashed)
- 1 cup parboiled,crushed peas
- 2 teaspoon chaat masala
- 2 teaspoon spice chili powder
- 4 tablespoon corn flour
- 4 tablespoon bread crumbs
- 1 handful finely chopped coriander leaves
- Salt, as required
- Oil, as required
Instructions
• Take a glass bowl and add potatoes, peas, coriander leaves, chaat masala, chilli powder, cornflour, salt. Mix well all these ingredients.
• Divide the mixture into 10 equal portions and shape each portion into a round tikki.
• To attain a crispy texture, coat the prepared tikkis with breadcrumbs on all sides by rolling it in the breadcrumbs filled plate.
• Heat oil in a pan over medium flame and shallow fry the tikkis, till both sides are golden brown in colour.
• Once done, transfer the Aloo Tikkis on a tissue paper or kitchen towel so that excess oil is absorbed.
• Serve Aloo Tikki with tomato ketchup and green chutney.

Note
1. You can also cook Aloo Tikki in an air-fryer for a healthier version.
2. Aloo tikkis taste the best when served with a piping hot cup of tea or coffee.
