Peas & Potato Curry/ Aloo Matar Curry Recipe | Breakfast Care

Peas and Potato Curry is one of the popular Indian vegetable curry. It's an easy to make delicious curry and oftenly served with any Indian bread.

• 3/4 cup green peas
• 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 onion, chopped
• 1 tomato, finely chopped
• 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander powder
• 3/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
• 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
• 2 tablespoons oil
• A handful of coriander leaves, chopped
• 3/4 cup water
• Salt, as per taste

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add potatoes and cook for 3 to 5 mins, stirring occasionally.
  • Transfer potatoes to a bowl.
  • Heat a teaspoon of oil over medium heat.
  • Once hot, add the cumin seeds and onion. Saute until translucent. 
  • Add chopped tomato and cook for 3-4 mins to thicken.
  • Add the potatoes, salt and water and cover and cook for 15 mins.
  • Add more water if needed.
  • Add the peas and half the cilantro and cover and cook until potatoes are tender to preference.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander.
  • Serve with any Indian bread.
