Kheer/ Rice Kheer is a creamy and delicious popular Indian dessert. Main ingredients of this recipe are rice, milk and sugar. Beside dessert, it is also prepared in festivals for puja.
Ingredients
- 1 litre milk
- 1/4 cup rice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- A handful of rasins
- A handful of almonds, chopped
- A handful of pistachios, chopped
- Saffron strands (optional)
Instructions
- In a pan, heat the milk.
- Once boil, add rice, saffron, raisins and cardamom powder.
- Cook the kheer on low heat until thickens. Keep stirring in between.
- Cook for 45 minutes.
- Add sugar and cook for a minute.
- Transfer to a serving dish.
- Garnish with slivers of almonds and pistachios.
- Serve hot.
- Enjoy!
Note
You can add dry fruits of your choice.
