Kheer/ Rice Kheer Recipe | Breakfast Care

Kheer/ Rice Kheer is a creamy and delicious popular Indian dessert. Main ingredients of this recipe are rice, milk and sugar. Beside dessert, it is also prepared in festivals for puja.

  • 1 litre milk
  • 1/4 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • A handful of rasins
  • A handful of almonds, chopped
  • A handful of pistachios, chopped
  • Saffron strands (optional)

  • In a pan, heat the milk.
  • Once boil, add rice, saffron, raisins and cardamom powder.
  • Cook the kheer on low heat until thickens. Keep stirring in between.
  • Cook for 45 minutes.
  • Add sugar and cook for a minute.
  • Transfer to a serving dish.
  • Garnish with slivers of almonds and pistachios.
  • Serve hot.
  • Enjoy!

You can add dry fruits of your choice.
