Chana Dal Recipe | Breakfast Care

Chana Dal is a easy and healthy recipe. It takes no time to cook. It's a delicious and popular North Indian dish. You can have it anytime.

  1. 1 cup chana dal
  2. 1 onion, chopped
  3. 1 tomato, chopped
  4. 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  5. 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  6. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  7. 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  8. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  9. 4 cups water
  10. Dried red chilli, to garnish
  11. Green chilli, to garnish
  12. 2 tablespoons ghee
  13. A handful of coriander leaves, chopped
  14. Salt, as per taste

  • Soak chana dal in water for 3 hours
  • Drain the chana dal in a pressure cooker.
  • Add chopped onion, tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, garlic cloves and salt in pressure cooker.
  • Pressure cook for up to 4-5 whistles on low heat.
  • Heat 2 teaspoons ghee in a pan.
  • Temper with cumin seeds and dried red chilies.
  • Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and saute for few seconds.
  • Pour the temper over the chana dal and mix well.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and green chili.
  • Serve hot.
  • Enjoy!
