Beetroot Rice is a delicious and easy to make recipe. It's the best way to include the beetroot in your meal.
Ingredients
- 1 cup basmati rice, soaked
- 1 cup beetroot, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
- 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Oil
- Water
- A handful of coriander leaves
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Heat in a wok.
- Saute cumin, onion and ginger garlic paste well.
- Add chopped and grated beetroot. Saute for 2 minutes.
- Add turmeric powder and salt. Saute.
- Add 1 cup basmati rice and 2 cup water.
- Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or till the rice get cooked completely.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve immediately.
