Mirchi Vada/ Chili Cutlet Recipe | Breakfast Care

Mirchi Vada is one of the popular snack from Rajasthani cusine. They are also known as Chili Cutlet.


Ingredients
• 2 potatoes, boiled & mashed
• 10 chilli, (bhavnagiri / jalapeno)
• 1 cup gram flour/ besan
• 2 tablespoon rice flour
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 chillifinely chopped
• 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
• 1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds
• 3/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
• 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
• A pinch of hing
• A handful of coriander leavesfinely chopped
• Oil, for frying
• 1 cup water


Instructions

  • In a bowl, take 2 boiled and mashed potato. 
  • Add coriander seeds, chilli, ginger paste, chilli powder, pinch hing, coriander leaves and salt. Mix well together.
  • Stuff the prepared aloo masala into the chilli.
  • Dip the stuffed mirchi into besan batter and coat completely.
  • Heat oil in a wok.
  • Deep fry in hot oil over medium flame.
  • Cook and flip until turns golden.
  • Drain off the mirchi vada over kitchen paper towel.
  • Serve hot with tamarind chutney or ketchup.
  • Enjoy!

Note
You can enjoy mirchi vada with any dip of your choice.
