Pa Thong ko, also known as Thai Doughnuts is a popular breakfast food in Thailand.
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1⁄4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp oil
- 3 cup water
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Mix baking soda, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add water and stir well.
- Add above mixture to the flour, then stir for a few seconds.
- Add oil & mix until well combined.
- Cover the dough and leave it for 4 hours.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Dust work surface with flour. Roll the dough and make ring shaped doughnuts.
- Deep fry the doughnuts until they rise to the surface & are golden brown. Remove to tissue paper to absorb extra oil.
- Sprinkle sugar powder and serve.

Note
You can make doughnuts in number of shapes such as without a hole, and often filled, ball-shaped and cross (X) shaped.
