Thai Doughnuts/ Pa Thong Ko Recipe | Breakfast Care

Pa Thong ko, also known as Thai Doughnuts is a popular breakfast food in Thailand.

  • 4  cups flour
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1  tsp baking powder
  • 14 tsp baking soda
  • 1  tsp sugar
  • 1  tbsp oil
  • 3 cup water
  • A pinch of salt

  1. Mix baking soda, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add water and stir well.
  2. Add above mixture to the flour, then stir for a few seconds.
  3. Add oil & mix until well combined. 
  4. Cover the dough and leave it for 4 hours.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan. Dust work surface with flour. Roll the dough and make ring shaped doughnuts.
  6. Deep fry the doughnuts until they rise to the surface & are golden brown. Remove to tissue paper to absorb extra oil.
  7. Sprinkle sugar powder and serve.
  8. Enjoy!

You can make doughnuts in number of shapes such as without a hole, and often filled, ball-shaped and cross (X) shaped.
