Soft Pretzels Recipe | Breakfast Care

Pretzels is a type of baked pastry made from dough that is commonly shaped into a knot.
Pretzels come in a wide range of shapes now a days.

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 4 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 ½ cup water, warm
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • ⅔ cup baking soda
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • Coloured sprinkles
  • Salted pretzels
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp chocolate drops

  1. In a bowl, add water, salt, sugar and mix well. 
  2. Add yeast, and let rest 5 minutes until yeast starts to foam.
  3. Add flour and 2 tablespoons of oil, and mix thoroughly until a dough forms.
  4. Remove the dough and use the remaining oil to cover the bowl.
  5. Cover bowl with plastic wrap, and leave for 1 hour.
  6. Press the dough between two salted pretzels.
  7. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  8. Add baking soda to a large pot of water, and bring to a rolling boil. Boil each pretzel for 30 seconds per side.
  9. Transfer pretzels to a baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with salt. Bake until golden brown.
  10. Pour the melted chocolate over half of the pretzels.
  11. Garnish with coloured sprinkles and serve.
