Sabudana Vada Recipe | Breakfast Care

Sabudana vada is also called as 'sabu vada'. It is a traditional deep fried breakfast and snack from Maharashtra, India. It is often served with spicy green chutney and along with hot chai.

  • cup Sabudana
  • 2 medium size potato, boiled
  • 1/4 cup peanuts, roasted (crushed & skin removed)
  • 3 tablespoon coriander, chopped
  • 2 teaspoon green chilli,chopped
  • Salt , as per taste

  1. Wash the sabudana and soak for 6-8 hours in water.
  2. In a bowl, add soaked sabudana, salt, fresh coriander, green chilli, roasted peanuts and grate the boiled potatoes. Mix everything nicely.
  3. Heat oil in a non stick frying pan.
  4. Make small balls from the dough.
  5. Flatten them like a cutlet. 
  6. If it is too sticky, apply little oil on your palms.
  7. Deep fry the vadas in hot oil at high heat till golden brown.
  8. Garnish with chopped coriander.
  9. Serve hot with green chutney.
  10. Enjoy!

1. You can use any dip of your choice.
2. It is best eaten with hot tea.
