Yoghurt is an easy to make recipe with less equipments and ingredients. It is highly rich in protein and calcium, and has uncountable health benefits.
Ingredients
- 1 litre milk
- 4 tablespoon pre-made yoghurt
Instructions
- Heat milk in a stainless steel pan over medium heat until it reaches 180°F.
- Pour heated milk into clean canning jars and cool, either by sitting on the counter or in a cool water bath until the temperature drops to 115°F.
- Add the pre-made yogurt from a previous batch of yogurt or from store bought yogurt.
- Lightly stir just enough to incorporate into the milk.
- Place the jars into the oven with the light on for 10-12 hours. The light should provide a consistent heat of about 110°F.
- You can also place the jars in the kitchen where it remains undisturbed for 10-12 hours.
- Put jars into the refrigerator until the yogurt is cold and set.
- Enjoy!
Note
1. Yogurt needs to incubate for at least 5 hours.
2. The longer the yoghurt stands undisturbed the more tart the yoghurt will be.
