Chana Dal Halwa Recipe | Breakfast Care

Chana Dal Halwa is a simple and easy to cook recipe. It is a delicious Indian dessert which is loved by everyone.


Ingredients 1/2cupchana dal1/8cup ghee1/2cupsugar1/2cupmilkA pinchcardamom powderChopped almondsChopped pistachios

Instructions In a bowl, soak chana dal in water for a hour. Drain it and transfer to mixer jar. Grind it to a slightly coarse paste. Set aside. In a pan, add half of ghee to it add ground paste. Cook in low flame. Saute in low flame until  golden and raw smell of chana dal leaves. Add milk and water to it. Mix well and cook covered for few mins. Cook until dal gets soft and fully cooked. Add sugar to it and mix well. The mixture will become goey. Slowly it will start to thicken, at this stage add remaining ghee. Keep stirring in low flame until it starts to leave the kadai and rolls like a ball. Add cardamom powder, chopped pistachios and chopped almonds. Mix well and remove from the heat. Top with chopped almonds and pistachios. Serve hot. Enjoy!
